Lia Terni for VEIL TRENDS

YES! Here it is, finally the "un-veiling" of plans in the works! This past Fall I did a blog on an amazing designer I met at market, Lia Terni. Well shortly after that time Lia and I decided to collaborate our designs to offer unique, never before seen pieces to the bridal industry and here there are!

Lia has designed headbands sold exclusively through VEIL TRENDS retailers.

Headbands are so popular right now, so if you are a store owner make sure to contact us ASAP to get these in your store and if you are a bride to be, contact your local bridal shop and ask them to carry these amazing pieces!! Is that a plug for a product???....of course it is, but these pieces are just to much fun to go without :) Plus, the headbands can be worn after the wedding and should be!

Fantastic Weekend

Meet Lynne Rustad of Ellynne Bridal and Nora A'Bell, publisher of the Nebraska Wedding Planner. Lynne hosted the most fantastic Trunk Show this past weekend at her Couture Boutique in Lincoln, Nebraska. Lynne's beautiful boutique flooded with brides Saturday for this one day event.



Veil Trends (myself in this photo) was an honored guest this weekend along with a florist, cheesecake caterer and jewelry designer brought in by Nora A'Bell to give brides a dress fitting they will never forget. Photographer Gina Zabloudil was also on the scene photographing brides as they selected gowns, some for the first time, capturing all the images you see in this blog. Brides were then emailed these images all for free! I mean.....who ever gets images taken by a professional photographer for their first time trying on bridal gowns??? Priceless.



Bride in HER PURCHASED GOWN, trying it on with a feather flower FL645 and Veil Trends veil V1908. Side Note: isn't this an awesome dressing room?? The brides look like these beautiful cake toppers when they stand on this pedestal... I love that!


This is a bride who was trying on gowns for the first time ever and found her dream dress as the 3rd she tried on, along with style V508 from VEIL TRENDS that matched perfectly :)



The Bride had decided on this gown and wasn't sure what she would do for accessories.
"Definitely not a feather girl," this bride loved the idea of FL645 (which is a FEATHER). It is small and soft looking and you would never know it was feather until you touched it. Side Note: This is what makes trunk shows so much fun... putting something on a bride they would never put on themselves and finding them loving it!


This bride came in with her mom wanting to buy a Red wedding gown for her 2009 December wedding. After spending time with an Ellynne consultant, she found this beautiful Pearl colored dress accented with a Red Satin Ribbon ( the consultant's idea...awesome! ). Here she is in a Russian Blusher v1606 w/FL382.



This bride was ecstatic that she finally found the perfect hair piece, an Ostrich feather pin! She bought it right then and there. This hair piece A105 was such a hit this weekend.



This was such a sweet moment captured buy Gina of Zabloudil Photographics. This was the first dress shopping of this mother and daughter who were in tears after 2 gowns.



It was such a Fantastic Weekend, I truly enjoyed my time in Nebraska with Lynne and all of the wonderful ladies of Ellynne Bridal. I am anxious to return in the fall to do it all again!

And I am especially grateful to Nora A'Bell of the Nebraska Wedding Planner who connected us all and made this a truly unforgettable weekend.

Introducing Alisa Benay Bridal Couture

Back in 2008 I was introduced to designer Alisa Benay through Ladies Who Launch. Alisa received a BA in Fashion Design from the Rogers and Silverman School of Fashion Design and Merchandising at Kent State University in 1994. She has had her custom design studio for 15 years in Colorado Springs servicing individual brides and custom making gowns.....

Until.......now! Alisa will be launching her line of "Modern Vintage" gowns this March in Colorado Springs. In 2009 Alisa's collection is going national and will be available through boutiques throughout the US. (Designs already available at Little White Dress bridal shop in Castle Rock, CO)

So why I am I posting Alisa Benay on the VEIL TRENDS blog? 1. To introduce you to an up and coming new designer. Here is a "behind the scenes" photo I took from Alisa's Blog; the gowns called Beatrice. The veil is a heavier tulle with a poka-dot pattern called "Flock." It is stunning and used in the bottom of the dress as well.
